guernica

I decided to start painting on a whim a couple of weeks ago. It being summer and all, I figured I should preoccupy myself while being productive. This is my first painting with acrylics and on canvas (can you tell I don't paint? ha). Obviously influenced by Picasso's Guernica. I quite like it.

I'm selling some stuff to make some cashish. If you're not completely broke like I am, you should check it out at my yard sale, SOMETHING PICASSO YARD SALE.

In other news, I find that my Tumblr is just that much easier to update, less talking more sensual stimulation. Everyone should get one, even if you're a complete Blogger loyalist. Sometimes it's easier to just share without having to explain.

loafer heel

Say hello to my new shoes. I call them my "library lady" shoes. I haven't made a collage, picture thing like this in a while... not since the early days of this blogarithm.

Today was such an odd day. One of the ladies who works at the dining hall was incredibly rude and told me if I had known I was making a "big mess" in the dining hall, I'll have you know I was diy-ing a cup of iced coffee and will admit, I was unaware. I look down and there is maybe 4-5 drops of coffee on the floor. I look back up, expecting her to break out laughing, because I was thinking this has got to be a joke. She wasn't joking. There was an awkward silence for a good ten seconds before I stuttered out an apology and told her I would clean it up, which I did promptly. What. the. fuck. Its always scenarios like these where I wonder what would happen if circumstances were different...

and everything is going to the beat

Tea time! God, I just spent almost 2 hours stipling, stipling! Dot dot dot dot on the page in an attempt to capture the shadows on a mug. I have so much respect for artists' work now. It takes so much patience and it is so incredibly time-consuming...

Has anyone tried Trader Joes creamed honey? It is so good. You can stir it into a cup of tea or spread it on a slice of bread or even just eat it by the spoonful hah.

dork on a horse

The title "dork on a horse" refers to the Ralph Lauren polo player logo on my shirt, its what my highschool teacher would yell if you happened to walk into his class wearing the silly little logo. The grandma-like sweater is Liz Claiborne. Did everyone know that Liz Claiborne owns Juicy Couture? I definitely don't associate the two...

camilla and marc

I was sent these images of Camilla and Marc's latest collection from Grace at People's Revolution. Sometimes Australians just do it better... In other news, my course load and schedule are pretty amazing this semester. I have no classes on Friday, so every weekend is a three-day weekend for me!

Ta-ta for now, I'm going to try to get some studying done.

choo 24:7

An updated version of the Tamara Mellon's perfect flat that's launching alongside the ss10 Jimmy Choo collection. The gold glitter would be a cool bit of sparkle in a monochrome outfit, no?

At the risk of giving away my age, I still remember when Mcdonalds' ad slogan was we love to make you smile. My brother has recently turned me on to the big 'n tasty burger. I usually like to get a cheeseburger happy meal.

Anyway, third day of classes today. Today in my basic drawing and composition class we worked on gesture drawing. Mine are all very unfortunate looking, because the fact of the matter is: I can not draw.

new year, new things

I watched Oprah yesterday. She went to Denmark to visit the so-called "happiest people on earth", and she made me realize how obsessed Americans are with consumerism and material possessions. I can't tell if its a good or bad thing that we measure our worth by what we own.

Details: #1 Rodarte x Target striped tee. 2 Ralph Lauren shawl-collar sweater with gold toggle. 3, 4 Gap shimmer top. I'm amassing a tidy little collection of long-sleeved striped tops, and it is very pleasing to me. You can really do no wrong with stripes, right?

breakfast

Let me first say this: I cannot cook. However, I think that if I were to cook, breakfast would be the place to start. I believe its very hard to mess up breakfast foods, and my university's dining hall is proof of this. Pictured above are my latest creations. These little meals were made for my brother at 5:30 in the morning, mind you. I am open to constructive criticism.

Details: #1 Smoked salmon and vegetable cream cheese on three-cheese bread, fried egg, strawberries, banana slices, and warmed milk. 2 Cinnamon french toast (essentially a slice of wheat bread dunked in beat egg-cinnamon mixture), skewered roast beef, banana slices, halved strawberries, and warmed milk.

clog boots pt. ii

Michelle Williams rocks these No.6 clog boots pretty damn well. Details: photos via Google images.

clog boots

The word clogs usually conjures up images of my carefree childhood, and that time when clogs were the cool thing. The cool things that my parents never let me get. Call it Peter Pan syndrome or what you may, but I want clogs again. It also helps that Chanel has helped make them cool again. That, and the fact that Swedish Hasbeens and No.6 have been making really really good boot versions.
