AVANTE-GARDE, EDGEY, AND MICKEY MOUSE? These are just a couple of the words that come to mind when I think of Priestess NYC/Shanghai F08 collection. Drape-y fluid dresses coupled with well-tailored skirts and a funny Mickey Mouse print thrown into the mix...and you better believe I am on board! Please please keep your eyes peeled for Cody Ross, designer for Priestess, the man is amazing. Couldn't you just imagine mixing and layering these pieces? Like high versus low contrast? Slinky flawless Priestess dress with beat-up vintage jean jacket?

Now repeat after me because I have developed a new mantra: PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS. Ok I'm going to stop raving before this gets too lengthy and people start getting annoyed, haha.

PS: If anyone has plans to go to China anytime soon, Priestess is getting pretty big there so be on the look out.

a small glimpse

THESE ARE A FEW of the things that are currently on my desk. While packing for my dorm, I purposely packed as little as possible because I knew that I would accumulate little randoms as I went along. The cute bunny candles were a gift from a friend who went to China this Summer. Adorable, no? Oh and I'm currently obsessed with this mango black tea from Trader Joe's, it is delicious. Does anyone else feel that the after taste of coffee is sickening? I can not stand it.

COLLEGE LIFE treats me incredibly well. I have been catching up with old friends and playing with new ones. The work load is tolerable and my dorm is cozy and small. MY ROOMMATE is too nice and our AC works so well it freezes us in 90 degree weather. I wake up early and fall asleep at an unspeakable hour. The natural lights in our room are dim, but we've brought enough lamps for it to be broad daylight when it's actually 1 in the morn. My classes are far, I ride the bus. I get lost by myself when I walk. I eat too much and I've already adopted the library as my second home. ALL IN ALL, life is good.

As you may or may not know be attending university this year. In the next week or so, I'll be packing, tying up loose ends at mi casa, moving in, taking placement tests, and getting adjusted to a new environment...so I won't be updating for a bit. I have a couple of ideas in the works for what could become little features in the blog, but other than that, entries will continue as always after I get settled.

The first day of the Olympic games, this should be exciting. I will be watching the events that I can, will you? I find it really hard to forget all the politics surrounding the event, but in all honesty, it's difficult to differentiate between what is real and what is biased media. Call it ignorance, but at this point, I barely care any more. I just want to marvel.
