I'm going to work on a tutorial for the shredded t-shirt over Fall break, so expect that soon.

Fall break starts after class tomorrow, and I get out at 9, in the morning! And the fair is in town so that gives me something to over the holiday (besides sleep). It's basically a huge two-week-long event with overpriced funnel cakes, barf-worthy rides, a ferris wheel, games and tons and tons of people. Oh and farm animals, I think there's a petting zoo, too. Should be fun.

Ta-ta all, have a bursting good week, it's hump day tomorrow.

Following in the footsteps of a number of inspirational sources including Rodarte, Raquel Allegra, and Childhood Flames's endeavor, I decided to try my hand at distressing and shredding your typical Fruit of the Loom tshirt. With knitting needle in hand and not much else, I went to work. And what you see are the results, which I must say I liiiiike. I would definitely do this to tshirts in a rainbow of colors, ok no, namely grey, white and black, but its ez!

Can I just say that with the right amount of practice and maybe a seam ripper (read: must remember for the next attempt), this little do-it-yourself just goes to show that $500 tshirts are not really necessary if you have some spare time on your hands. If not the case, then by all means, drop the 500 dinero.

In other awesome news, I just found out there's rumored to be secret tunnels and passageways that lead from my dorm all the way to North campus, about 2-3 miles away. No one really knows where they are, and the one man that was shown them was sworn to secrecy and only gave vague details. A quick search on the Internet has yielded little information. Oh and there are secret societies, also? This shit just intrigues me...

A BIG BIG BIG thank you to Suzanne and Rich of Weardrobe for sending me this cute little care package complete with a handful of Legos, pretty colors, and a gift card! I can't remember the last time I played with LEGOS. And they have definitely upgraded from the standard primary color package (flowers? propellers? whaaaa?)

AVANTE-GARDE, EDGEY, AND MICKEY MOUSE? These are just a couple of the words that come to mind when I think of Priestess NYC/Shanghai F08 collection. Drape-y fluid dresses coupled with well-tailored skirts and a funny Mickey Mouse print thrown into the mix...and you better believe I am on board! Please please keep your eyes peeled for Cody Ross, designer for Priestess, the man is amazing. Couldn't you just imagine mixing and layering these pieces? Like high versus low contrast? Slinky flawless Priestess dress with beat-up vintage jean jacket?

Now repeat after me because I have developed a new mantra: PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS PRIESTESS CODYROSS. Ok I'm going to stop raving before this gets too lengthy and people start getting annoyed, haha.

PS: If anyone has plans to go to China anytime soon, Priestess is getting pretty big there so be on the look out.
