true blood

Mens shirts and tights are always so ez. It's hard not to repeat. In other news, I straightened my hair for the first time today (read: not permanently, just with a friend's straightener). It's insane how flat and thin my hair can be. I'm still convinced that said friend's hair straightener is magic. Oh and in these pictures my hair is noooot straightened.

I know Chauss is obsessed with HBO's True Blood, but is anyone else? I don't get HBO in my dorm, so I watch the episodes bootleg online; its a slightly corny storyline, but it is so addictive. I have always liked the idea of fantastic creatures... vampires, unicorns, and centaurs anyone?

skeletal

As I mentioned in an earlier post, earrings have become such an underrated accessory lately. What with all the things you can bling yourself with on your wrists, fingers, and neck; I feel that ears have become neglected. I picked these up at Claires today for two dollars, they were in the Halloween section and were discounted at 50% off. So I said, "whhhhhyyyyyyyyy not?"

On that note, what's everyone going to be for Halloween?

bursting cold

Its finally getting cold. The high this week was like 60 degrees, so that means bundling up! Dorm life is dirty, or my roommates making it that way, at least. There's so much dust and hair everywhere.

Oh, and I made another shredded t-shirt. This time I let out the bottom seam so that the shred could start from the bottom. It is so much easier to start a shred now, and I think I'm starting to get better (read: and faster!) So if anyone does not want to bother with the DIY, I could potentially play Ms. Little UPS and custom make one for you.

huh

I skipped my 8 am class because I just couldn't bring myself to wake up at 7 this morning. Instead, I woke up at a decent 11:30 and watched my roommate pack for her flight to New Orleans (I think she's going to be doing some serious partyin' down there), while I ate her leftover Chinese takeout from the night before.

In a few I'm going to the dining hall to get takeout with a friend and then I'm headed back home (home-home, not dorm) for Fall Break. What is everyone else up to this week?

true affection

I'm going to work on a tutorial for the shredded t-shirt over Fall break, so expect that soon.

Fall break starts after class tomorrow, and I get out at 9, in the morning! And the fair is in town so that gives me something to over the holiday (besides sleep). It's basically a huge two-week-long event with overpriced funnel cakes, barf-worthy rides, a ferris wheel, games and tons and tons of people. Oh and farm animals, I think there's a petting zoo, too. Should be fun.

Ta-ta all, have a bursting good week, it's hump day tomorrow.

distress signals

Following in the footsteps of a number of inspirational sources including Rodarte, Raquel Allegra, and Childhood Flames's endeavor, I decided to try my hand at distressing and shredding your typical Fruit of the Loom tshirt. With knitting needle in hand and not much else, I went to work. And what you see are the results, which I must say I liiiiike. I would definitely do this to tshirts in a rainbow of colors, ok no, namely grey, white and black, but its ez!

Can I just say that with the right amount of practice and maybe a seam ripper (read: must remember for the next attempt), this little do-it-yourself just goes to show that $500 tshirts are not really necessary if you have some spare time on your hands. If not the case, then by all means, drop the 500 dinero.

In other awesome news, I just found out there's rumored to be secret tunnels and passageways that lead from my dorm all the way to North campus, about 2-3 miles away. No one really knows where they are, and the one man that was shown them was sworn to secrecy and only gave vague details. A quick search on the Internet has yielded little information. Oh and there are secret societies, also? This shit just intrigues me...
